Lifestyle location Shoot

I was recently invited along on a location shoot with a colleague Cris Matthews. We were shooting antique corsets and lingerie at a beautiful rural location in Yorkshire, unfortunately I’m unable to blog any of those images but we got chance to relax and take some images of the models relaxing and having some fun with the locations owner and their family once the main shoot was over. All the models worked extremely hard on the day were very professional and a pleasure to work with.

This is the fab Stefanie Rycraft Jones the lead model on the day, Stef decided that as we were at an old farm house that still had livestock the girls would dress appropriately so donned wellies and riding boots.

The owners daughter wanted to get in on the fun she may look startled.! in the shot but she was having a whale of a time jumping around with the models.

Stefanies sister Natalie came along for her first shoot and was a little nervous but turned out to be a natural.

Last but not least Charlotte joined in the fun what a star Charlotte was not very well on the day but was absolutely fantastic a true professional.

Debbie the owner and her two sons who generously let us use their property

Another change for Stefanie as Stef worked so hard all day a sitting down shot was in order

Another quick change couldn’t resist this shot utilizing this wall Loved the colours and texture

Likewise with this shot of Charlotte loved the colour so added a little to the white door also..!

Charlotte and Stefanie against white doors had to do something about the white..!

Print Award

Hi I’ve posted this image from a location family portrait session from last year, the image was awarded a merit award in the environmental portrait category at the 2010 British Institute of Professional Photography awards.

It was taken at the end of the session, the girl was playing in her Grand parents garden and looked like she was about to pick an apple, until Granddad said don’t I think I caught that moment of contemplation.

Cawood Floods

After all the snow then the subsequent rain and thaw a few week ago, I decided to have a look at how high the river Oues had risen at nearby Cawood Bridge.

As you can see the river had caused a lot of destruction a chaos in the village, this first shot was taken from the Ferry Inn beer garden or what was left of it, 30 minutes earlier the water level was 2.5 meters higher and where I stood to take the shot would have been under water.

This shot taken with a 15mm fish eye lens shows the amount of water surging at quite a rate of Knots under the bridge this was quite a scary position to stand as you could feel the effect of the water on the bridge.

I shudder to think how long you would last if you were to fall into the icy water, I don’t think you would stand much chance against the speed of the water flow.

Katherine & James wedding Goldsborough Hall, Harrogate

Hi

These are a few images from Katherine & James wedding at Goldsborough Hall in Harrogate. Goldsborough hall is a beautiful setting and I could see why they chose this as their wedding venue. The bride and groom wanted a relaxed and informal approach to their wedding photography although we did have a small number of formal shots to take, once they were taken we let the day unfold and captured lots of images of them enjoying their day with family and friends.

Amanda & Simon Wedding Temple Newsam Leeds.

These images are from Amanda and Simons Wedding at Temple Newsam in Leeds, they were married at St James Church in Crossgates then on to Temple Newsam golf club for their wedding breakfast.
